Finished reading Girl With the Dragon Tatoo.
Thinking the lupins in the front garden look like marijuana - just when they are budding before the pea-like flower comes out. Must be a legume I think. Himalayan marigolds are another that look like that, good to give to your mum as the neighbors start asking questions.
Wondering why Christians always quote the nice bits of the bible, there's heaps of nasty stuff, most of it not for kids - still like Harry Potter better.
Still think tat maybe they should sell off the Amazon forest, not cut it down, just sell it by the square metre, then if they find a bug or plant in your bit that leads to some new medicine or something then you get the bucks for it - or the Indigenous people would probably be fairer. And maybe the giant anteaters. Thought he preference between cutting it down and selling it off for top dollar and keeping it intact, I think you'd have to choose selling it off.
Climate change is a sustainability issue, simple economics, how do we make the most money out of the planet in perpetuity? You keep recycling the bits of the Amazon you buy, sell it off, buy some more, trade it, but keep it there. Same with the sun, suck it dry with you solar PVs - better payback than your couch or the new iphone or a new kitchen table. I'm keeping the old table and putting electricity in the roof, not for climate change, but to feel like a god, harnessing the power of the sun right on top of my head, sucking energy from the skies.
The Egyptian economy ran on the power of the gods, including Ra, and so can my Apple imac...
